What is DSL?
DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is a technology for bringing high-bandwidth information to homes and small businesses over ordinary copper telephone lines. Digital data is transmitted to your computer directly as digital data instead of being modulated by a modem, and this allows the phone company to use a much wider bandwidth for transmitting it to you.

Does CityStar® have any limits on my bandwidth usage?

Yes. While your connection speed isn't limited, beyond what Qwest allows on your line, there are some safety measures in place to prevent abuse. Rather than capping speeds, we've limited total transfer amounts to 12 gigabytes per 4 weeks. This allows for an average of 3 gigabytes per week to be transfered each way (3 GB upload and 3 GB download). Bandwidth is only metered Monday - Friday, from 7 a.m. to midnight. This is more than enough for any client not running server services.

If you require more than the allowed 12 gigabytes per 4 weeks, additional bandwidth can be purchased. This is priced at $10 per month for one additional gigabyte per week.

If you would like to monitor your bandwidth, CityStar® recommends trying NetStat Live.
